Trash–Robot serial Nr° 01010
Cecilia the Giraffe – Hubart Michel views both male and female giraffes as embodying a graceful femininity. With this statue, he aims to highlight that grace and femininity—in both men and women—are not luxuries but essential qualities if we hope to change the world for the better. Michel Hubart’s Trash-Robots stand out thanks to his unique assembly method, which uses no welding, soldering, or even glue. This approach gives the robots their distinctive look. Why Cecilia? When Hubart M. finished this statue, a rather rare song to hear on the radio in Antwerp started playing: “Paul Simon – Cecilia.” The vibe and sound of this song reminded him of Africa, where he grew up as a child. Mixed materials: For example, her ears are made from toothpaste tubes turned inside out. Hubart’s Trash-Robots series, statue No. 10 Number of pieces: 1/1.
